Director of Event Management and Board Administration
Joining The League during the summer of 2016, I needed to hit the ground running in my new position as I made preparations for our Annual Convention in September. I feel as if I have been handed a blank slate—something every event professional hopes to be presented with at least once in their life! This affords me the opportunity to shake things up, add some creativity and energy, and help bring ILFI more into the modern age. Exciting times lie ahead and I’m beyond thankful to be a part of it!
A brief look into my past...I have been fortunate enough not to follow the typical path society plans for someone after high school. Instead of diving into the college world, I began what has become an exceptional journey through a multitude of diverse fields including real estate, investments, weddings, aviation, precious metals, hospitality, and my pride and joy: event services.
Born and raised in Central Illinois, on a whim in 2009, I packed up and moved to Tampa, Florida. I experienced new cultures and learned new business practices while being employed by a large private equity fund. I moved back to Illinois (I still ask myself “why” come winter time) and returned to school after discovering my passion in marketing and event planning. I have since graduated with my Bachelors in Communications and Marketing from the University of Illinois—Springfield and earned my Associates in Speech and Communication from Lincoln Land Community College.
I’ve helped manage and produce a large array of diverse events over the years ranging from corporate parties, employee appreciation festivals, to large local and regional expos. As I hope you will witness in the future, I absolutely love what I do and each event becomes my baby. I dedicate myself to ensuring that every attendee feels appreciated and leaves feeling as if their time was well spent.
Connect with me on LinkedIn and of course follow our ILFI Facebook page to see what I’m up to and what fun things we have up our sleeves!
